Instructions for visa application

PROCEDURE OF ISSUANCE OF THE CROATIAN VISA TO THE PARTICIPANTS OF THE INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON THE APPLICATIONS OF THE MOSSBAUER EFFECT (ICAME 2013) TO BE HELD IN SEPTMEBER 2013 IN OPATIJA

WHO NEEDS CROATIAN VISA?

All participants are required to check the web site of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Croatia www.mvep.hr - Consular Information - Visa to see if they are required to have Croatian visa when entering the Republic of Croatia.

Important notice!

If the planed trip of the participants includes also visits to the other countries in the region they are advised to independently acquire appropriate entry documents according to the legislation of the countries s they are planning to visit. Also in this case participants are responsible for lodging the formal application for Croatian two or multi entry visa according to the specific circumstances of their trip.

WHERE TO APPLY FOR CROATIAN VISA?

In order to obtain a visa (regardless to the type of visit), when it is required, a foreigner has to apply in person at the nearest Croatian Embassy in his/her area of residence (which means: Croatian Embassy in the country of his/her origin or the nearest country to the country of his/her origin).

The list of Croatian diplomatic missions and consular posts, as well as all additional information (including the fees to be charged on visa application) are available on the web site of this Ministry www.mvep.hr - Diplomatic Missions and Consular Offices of Croatia.

In exceptional cases (when there is no Croatian Embassy in the country of origin of a foreigner as the case may be), a visa application can be submitted by mail, as arranged with the Embassy (which means that it needs to be arranged bycontacting the Croatian Embassy in his/her area of residence), but in order to collect a visa, it is necessary to appear in Embassy in person for the purpose of identification. Also, exemption of a personal appearance in Croatian Embassy would be possible if a foreigner requesting visa would be able to deliver all required documents via diplomatic post followed by a verbal note of the respected Embassy or the Ministry of Foreign Affaires of his/her country of origin.

DEADLINES

Visa application may be submitted not earlier than three months prior to the planned date of entry to the Republic of Croatia, an visa can not be issued earlier then two months prior to the planned date of entry to the Republic of Croatia. The participants are advised to submit their applications on time.

Decision upon application in urgent procedure is brought within the three working days.

WHAT NEEDS TO BE SUBMITTED WHEN APPLYNIG FOR CROATIAN VISA?

Participants who are required to have a visa submit the following:

  • a valid travel document which has to be valid not less than three months after the planned visit
  • a colour photograph (35 x 45 mm)
  • fulfilled application form (with accurate personal data and one about the accommodation).
  • fee payment receipt (36 euros)
  • documentation which proves the:
  1. purpose of the stay - letter of guarantee of the Ruder Boskovic Institute
  2. valid travel and health insurance,
  3. means of travel – reservation of the return flght ticket
  4. possibility of entering a third country if the planed trip includes visiting other countries in the region
